Post-Covid Feminist Strategies for Climate Justice in the MENA Region
The session will take place on Thursday August 18, 2022 from 05:00 to 06:30 p.m. Beirut time and aims to inform feminist action on climate change and gender justice in the MENA region, building on the lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Panelists will be shedding the light on the economic and political structures that are contributing to climate change and providing possible reforms and concrete and solid recommendations for the steps that feminists can undertake for moving towards climate justice.
The discussion will be moderated by Rula Asad, Co-founder and Executive Director of Syrian Female Journalists Network (SFJN), joined by:
- Sarine Karajerjian, Program Director of the Environmental Politics program, Arab Reform Initiative (ARI)
- Lina Abou Habib, Director of the Asfari Institute for Civil Society and Citizenship at the American University of Beirut
